I once reached the top of a hill.
But the Sun had set on the neighbouring hill,
Before I had made my climb down the hill.
I’d have regretted climbing this hill,
Had it not been for the beautiful sunset.
For one last time, the Sun glowed its best colours;
For once transforming the green shadows to a golden mat,
Before leaving behind Darkness’s contours
But no regrets in my heart, lay
For the beauty of the setting sun lives on in my mind,
Brushing the curse of darkness away.
In the shortness of the last sunshine,
I saw immortality tucked in the collars of mortality.
Hi Rajyashori,
Actually your look to climbing the hill is so nice and romantic because the nature has the most colorful paints and you have found it.
be happy
Thankyou for your comment š. Well, I find nature really inspirational because the one place where I can lose myself is where the beauty of nature conquers me. How do you feel about nature?
-Rajyashori
Thanks for reply,
Well, actually my country in Asia has exact 4 season during the year with theirs beauties and I (as a film maker) travel between states and enjoy the natural scripts.
Is your country in Central Asia? I’ve heard a lot about the beautiful culture, monuments and landscapes there. Well, Asia is a wonderful continent with a variety of natural beauties.
As a filmmaker, you must travel a lot. Can you tell me about some wonderful places you visited?
Regards,
Rajyashori

Rajyashori
The picture is a wonderful compliment to your poem. I like how you describe the sunset as āBrushing the curse of darkness away.ā Do you often see sunsets like the one in your picture?
Iām a teacher in the US and Iām sure my students would love to hear from you if you want to visit our blogs: http://swcabloggers.edublogs.org
Happy blogging!
Hi
I’m really glad to hear that you have enjoyed my poem. I have always loved nature, so I find it to be a great inspiration.
I’m from a state called Manipur which is in the North-Eastern part of India and it is in fact, surrounded by hills. There is even a phrase here ‘Chinglon mapalna koisinba lam’ which means ‘surrounded by the nine hill ranges’. Wherever you are, you will always see hills around you in all four directions. The houses and buildings in the town make it difficult to see the hills around but, if I go to my mother’s village then, I can definitely see the beautiful hills and the wonderful golden sunset.
I’ll check out the swca bloggers as well.
Yours,
Rajyashori
That sounds lovely! It’s pretty flat where I’m from, so I enjoyed seeing your photo. Good luck in school and with blogging!
Thanks.
Hi Rajyashori, your poem is beautiful. My favourite part is the last line it really stuck with me. Did you base the poem off of true events or did you just come up with it on the spot? My blog is http://www.blog44.ca/gracel/ if you would like to visit it.
Sincerely,
Grace
Hi Grace,
I came up with the poem for the Student Blogging Challenge and to be honest, making this poem took me an entire day because while I had a little bit of inspiration, it took me a lot of time to figure out how to say what I feel. Do you like writing poems?
And, it seems the last line is interesting to you. If you’d like to know, it means that while the sunset is not long, the memory of the beauty of the sunset would last forever. In the same way, our lives are short but if we truly do something beautiful in our lives, then its beauty would last eternity.
Yours,
Rajyashori
Hi Rajyashori, to answer your question, no I do not write poems, Iām more into short stories. I canāt wait to see more poems from you in the future.
Sincerely,
Grace
Hi Grace,
Can you tell me about some of the short stories you have written? Sometimes, I do try writing short stories but often, I lack the enthusiasm and determination to complete the story.
Yours,
Rajyashori

Hi Grace,
I checked out your story and it was quite nice. You can really stretch boundaries of your imagination and you have a beautiful, unique style of writing. I enjoyed reading it a lot.
It seems, you like powerful stories with unexpected endings. Can you tell me about the kind of short stories you like to read?
Rajyashori
Hello Rajyashori,
I really enjoyed reading your poem! The illustration you utilized for it went really well with the poem. What inspired you to write it? I have A poem up on my blog as well and I think they can compare in some ways so check it out and tell me what you think. http://brayamb24.edublogs.org/2018/10/22/week-three-challenge-pictures/
Hi Brayamb,
While I had some remarkable experiences of watching the sunset, looking at the picture that I put up on the post really helped me in visualizing the beauty of the sunset and writing the poem.
I checked out your blog as well. It was a pleasure to read the beautiful poem by Robert Frost.
Yours,
Rajyashori

Hi Rajyashor, I donāt usually read short stories. I actually prefer longer novels with lots of twists and turns. I have a book shelf in my room that has four shelves and I still canāt fit all my books on it because theyāre all so big! I would send a picture of it but I donāt think you can on comments. One of my favourite books right now is the super villain and me, I know it sounds like a sappy love story but thereās a lot of action in it too. Whatās your favourite story? Maybe weāve both read the same types of books.
Sincerely,
Grace
Hi Grace,
You seem like a voracious reader. Well, reading is a pleasurable hobby because I feel that books have the capability to adapt to the mindsets of the readers. How about you? Usually, I change my favorite book after every few months but… right now, my favorite novel is ‘The God Of Small Things’. And,… Super villain and me sounds like a really cool book. Can you tell me more about it?
Yours,
Rajyashori
Hi Rajyashori, I find that after reading a book you act like the main character for a little while. Crazy right? Anyway, I wrote about the supervillain and me in a post hereās the link: http://www.blog44.ca/gracel/2018/11/09/book-rant/
Could you tell me about the god of small things it sounds interesting.
Sincerely,
Grace
