I bought some new books from the book fair at school. Guess what, I’ll tell you all about it.
1. Diary of a young girl – Anne Frank published by Colorful Books International, volumes 1 and 2. It is such a great read about the life of a Jewish girl in hiding. The most interesting aspect about it is the fact that today more than 70 years later, hardly a thing has changed in adolescent psychology.
2. The memoirs of Sherlock Holmes – Arthur Conan Doyle. I believe there can hardly be another book where you can find the thrill of suspense and our unbreakable faith in the protagonist in a perfect combo. Just the read for someone who wants a little adventure.
3. Children’s Omnibus – Ruskin Bond. I could have hardly ever known about the many simple lives of young people hidden deep in the Kashmir or the silent towns had I not read this book. Ruskin is truly a genius in getting to the hearts of the young audience with truly innocent and simple stories.
4. The Speaking Tree vol. 7- Times of India- It is such a great book that provides a great deal of knowledge of living a meaningful life. It is a wonder that there is a collection of such noble thoughts in today’s materialistic world
5. High School Musical 4 – N.B. Grace. I got to know about high school in other countries through the series. I would admit that I was a bit envious thinking of all the facilities they get. But there is an inspiration I got from reading the series of books. Maybe I should build a high school in my state providing at least some of the things that they are getting. Maybe I should provide all. Maybe…
So, was my selection good?
